Adult Education & Family Literacy Month
September 2026
Adult education happens quietly. It runs in church basements and community college annexes and library back rooms, often staffed by one person who does everything. It rarely makes the news, and the people it serves usually aren’t in a position to make noise about it.
September is when that changes on purpose.
LAPCAE observes the full month rather than the national week alone, because a month gives programs room to do something real — invite a council member to sit in on a class, get a proclamation read at a parish meeting, tell a learner’s story to people who’ve never heard one.
Everything here is built to work whether you have a week to plan or an afternoon.
