Awards & Recognition

For fifty years, LAPCAE has done two things at once: build the field, and recognize the people who carry it. Adult education in Louisiana runs on individual effort — an instructor who stays late, an administrator who finds the funding, a support person who tracks down a student who stopped coming. That work is easy to miss from the outside.

Each year we make a point of not missing it. LAPCAE honors outstanding teachers, administrators, support staff, and adult learners, and funds classroom projects and continuing education for members growing in the field. Recipients are recognized at the annual conference in front of a room of people who understand exactly what the work took.
